What we offer: A welcoming and cheerful Bed & Breakfast

Steve & Linda believe this undiscovered part of France has so much to offer, whether your holiday is for activity, history, gastronomy or just relaxing.

Here at Les Portails Bleus we aim to provide a comfortable and relaxing environment for you to enjoy your visit, where you can unwind and visit the many sites of interest, hectares of vineyards, Châteaux, ancient churches or just take in the amazing countryside.

Our Comfortable Bedrooms

All our spacious bedrooms have private bathrooms, our beds are made with soft 100% cotton bedlinen and we have a salon where our guests can relax and read a book or enjoy a DVD from our collection. There is also the facility to make hot and cold drinks and chat with some of the other guests... Read more about our rooms

Garden & Hot tub

In the garden we have a hot tub, which can be used by our guests by prior arrangement. Either use during the day, under the sun, or at night, under the stars, whatever the time of day you can be sure of an pleasant experience. The garden provides an area where you can relax and enjoy the sunshine, overlooking the vineyards whilst sipping a chilled glass of the locally produced wine or sit in the courtyard under the shade of the tree to cool off from the heat of the day.

Evening Meals

We appreciate that at the end of a long days sightseeing you may not want to travel out to eat for the evening. Steve & Linda, who are experienced cooks , can provide an evening meal where you can sit back and enjoy good quality food at a reasonable price, accompanied by local wine. During the summer we create “themed evenings” where food is the centre of attention i.e. Paella; it is served “al fresco” with an emphasis on having fun and enjoying the food as well as the company. Azé Village

Azé is a small working wine village set in the Maconnais mountains in southern Burgundy. We are ideally situated to explore the Beaujolais area, the city of Beaune or many of the historic towns or places of interest in this unspoilt part of France.

Azé village itself is unique as it offers a site of historical interest in the form of the "Grottes d'Azé". This site is prehistoric caves and has guided tours everyday in the summer. There is also a newly refurbished outside swimming pool - open to the public in the summer months - which offers welcome respite from the hot summer days. There are a variety a shops and amenities including a village shop, bakery and two bars. For the more energetic Azé also offers a tennis court, table tennis table, plenty of walks or cycle rides. There is also fishing and a golf course nearby. Les Portails Bleus offers the use of pushbikes, if required.

So, come and explore this naturally beautiful and ancient part of Burgundy, where life is a more gentle pace and where neighbours become friends.
